Why not sponsor Opera Worcester and promote yourself at the same time!

Opera Worcester is a charity registered by the UK Charity Commission.

The society aims to promote performance in operatic works, attract and give opportunities to both new and established performers and educate and stimulate appreciation of the opera genre.

This is a bold statement and any support we can attract is very important in enabling us to realise our ambitions.

In past years, promising young professional singers have joined us to undertake roles, in some cases enabling them to experience singing opera for the very first time. Our productions have also provided local talented singers and instrumentalists with new challenges that they might not otherwise have the chance to tackle.

Our next production of Die Fledermaus at Norbury Theatre, Droitwich from 20th to 22nd March 2024 is no exception.  It stars a student from the Birmingham Conservatoire and a semi-professional singer from Swindon.  Orchestral accompaniment is provided by the Orchestra of St John from Bromsgrove.  The Musical Director is the established local professional conductor and cellist, Richard Jenkinson, and the Director is Anthony Ravenhall, a retired professional director from The Theatre Royal, York.

Once again, we wish to provide talented local amateur singers with opportunities to develop their vocal and acting experience and to both educate and bring live opera to audiences that might not otherwise experience a live opera performance.  Our most recent production, The Merry Widow, attracted an audience of over 300 people and we hope to attract even more this time, now that people are venturing out more after the pandemic.

The sponsorship money will help us not only to secure this ambitious company against any losses but also it allows us to improve the quality of our productions and to offer what no other company in the county provides.
