Ever wondered about whether you could sing opera?
Singing Workshop
Opera Worcester are inviting singers to find out at a workshop at Perdiswell Young Peoples’ Centre, Droitwich Road Worcester on Saturday 12 May from 10.00am – 4.00pm.
Opera is one of the most demanding forms of singing but also the most rewarding. Many of the current Opera Worcester chorus are not trained singers but have derived tremendous satisfaction from taking part in opera productions.
The productions and the workshop are led by Opera Worcester Musical Director, Sue Black, herself a professional singer and vocal coach.
“Many of our chorus do not read music and have not had any musical training but we take them step by step through the learning process and provide basic coaching on technique during rehearsals”.
A place on the workshop costs £15 for non members /£10 members (includes lunch)
Ali Ravenhall
“As a new member who doesn’t read music it’s been great to be part of the chorus for Opera Worcester’s latest production. It’s been an exciting challenge which I have loved. Opera Worcester have made me very welcome and have been really supportive in my journey to tackle opera”.

Next year’s production – Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci
We are also seeking singers of all voice types for next year’s production of Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci.
Cavelleria Rusticana features the majestic ‘Easter Hymn’ and the society are hoping to raise the roof at The Swan Theatre, Worcester from 2 – 4 May 2019!
For those singers who are not interested in stage work or cannot commit to a series of rehearsals, we are appealing to singers from across local music, choral societies and choirs to join us just to sing the Easter Hymn for the production.
Any singers wishing to find out more about becoming involved or wishing to book a place on the workshop, please ring 07396 081426 or email: info@operaworcester.uk
