In 2022 Opera Worcester will celebrate their 70th Birthday.
To celebrate, their annual production will be Lehar’s glorious operetta “The Merry Widow”.
Filled with love, laughter and gaiety, ‘The Merry Widow’ is filled with memorable melodies and wonderful tunes: ‘Flowers are awakened in Maytime’, ‘The Merry Widow Waltz’ and of course the beautiful ‘Vilja’. There are also terrific chorus numbers and set pieces
Transplanted to the 1930s, this production has been re-imagined by professional director Anthony Ravenhall and set in the nightclub, Maxim’s, where all the action will take place
Musical Direction is by Wilhelm Theunissen, and the soloists and chorus will be accompanied by a string quartet.
Performances will take place from July 20th-22nd at 7.30pm and on July 23rd: 2.30pm & 7.30pm at The Norbury Theatre, Droitwich . 20-23 July 2022.

Anyone wishing to sing in the chorus is not required to audition – why not join us in our 70th year?
Rehearsals for the show begin on Monday 31st January 2022 at St Marks Church Hall, Bath Road, Worcester UK 7.30pm
There are also other ways in which you can get involved if you don’t fancy actually being on the stage : from backstage to wardrobe and props, publicity or front of house.
